The three teams constituting the CANCER BIOLOGY department aim at contributing to basic and translational research advances in several scientific areas that are critical to better understand cancer cells and optimize therapies. The main research lines are the biology of healthy and cancer stem cells (Pannequin and Jay teams), the mechanisms of tumor initiation (Jay team), metastasis invasion and chemoresistance (Pannequin team), the links between cell cycle regulation and cancer (Bienvenu team), the development of new therapies (Pannequin and Bienvenu teams), and the mechanisms of epigenetic regulation, including parental genomic imprinting (Journot and Jay teams).
