ZEFIX-ZebKO plateform

ZebKO provides aquatic solutions for science in Montpellier. The platform offers high quality services and expertise dedicated to aquatic animals, focusing on zebrafish, but can also help you to develop and implement new original research models.
Our team consists of a scientific director, an engineer operational director, and 2 zootechnicians, providing a large range of services.
A wide range of equipment dedicated to zebrafish research is available to users, from academic laboratories to private companies.
Recognized for its expertise in aquatic models, ZebKO is also involved in national regulatory training courses and sharing our knowledge of zebrafish research.
Technical development
Our Tecniplast® aquarium is capable of housing 11,000 adult zebrafish. We also have a dedicated genotyping rack which allows us to perform large scale genotyping. We can offer a variety of services including:
- Genetic engineering: CRISPR/Cas9- Knock-out/Knock-in, Crispants (F0 phenotyping). Transgenesis solutions- Fluorescent reporter lines, Cre/Lox expression models, Molecular sensors (calcium, ATP), Optogenetics (Daniovision)
- Phenotyping: Behavioural (Daniovision, Zebrabox), Cardiac (Heartbeat analyser, mLab) ECG, 2 photon microscopy, confocal microscopy, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridisation
- Molecular analysis: RNAseq, single cell/nuclei/ATAC sequencing
- Toxicology: LD50, detailed phenotyping (neuro/cardio)
- Complete solutions: Generation and phenotyping of KO/KI lines, toxicology (novel drugs, environmental polluants etc)
We can offer custom training courses in a variety of different techniques such as microinjection, surgery, behavioural tests.
Our staff are also able to offer advice about current EU legislation regarding animal welfare.
