IPAM plateform
Small Animal Imaging platform of Montpellier

IPAM is an intravital imaging platform integrating longitudinal and multimodal monitoring of the animal (rodents, fish, insects, invertebrates), where the latter is its own control, for the assessment of normal biological functions or those altered by pathology.
IPAM brings together 3 technical core facilities, offering complementary intravital imaging modalities that provide real-time anatomical, functional and molecular information from the subcellular scale to the whole organism.
Their main equipments/applications are: IPAM-IGF, single/multiphoton intravital cellular imaging coupled with optical manipulations (optogenetics, ablation, etc.) targeted at the cellular level (microscopes and miniscopes); IPAM-Phymedex, anatomical, functional and haemodynamic characterisation using rapid high-resolution ultrasound/photo-acoustic imaging; and IPAM-IRCM, non-invasive monitoring of tumour progression and characterisation of potential new therapeutic molecules using nuclear imaging and bioluminescence.
Our medium-term goal is to continue to reduce the use of animals by offering in vivo/ex vivo imaging of reconstituted biological tissues such as organoids, PDX, or cell assemblies integrated into nano-chips.
IPAM is a member of BioCampus Montpellier, IBISA, the national infrastructures France-Bioimaging (IPAM-IGF) and France-Lifeimaging (IPAM-IRCM, IPAM-Phymedex), and its services/fee access are ISO-9001 certified and auditable by the CNRS.
IPAM is a BioCampus plateform.
