Anaïs is CNRS Research Scientist in the team “Neuroreceptors, Dynamics and Function” headed by Philippe Rondard. In the team, she is developing a research project focused on the structure of G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) heteromers.
Thanks to their strong tissue-specificity, GPCR heteromers form important targets for the development of new drugs with less side effects. Still, our understanding of the molecular mechanisms by which assembly of GPCRs in complexes transform their signaling properties remain poorly characterized.
The ERC project investigates how GPCR heteromers, specifically the mGlu2-5HT2A complex, interact and integrate changes in their environments to generate unique cellular responses.
To investigate these mechanisms at the molecular scale, Anaïs uses a variety of structural biology approaches including single-particle cryoEM.
Congralutations Anaïs for this great and deserved success !
