At its meeting on June 4, 2024, the Innovation and Investment Committee (COM’IN) of the Pôle Universitaire d’Innovation de Montpellier awarded its “Coup de Coeur” prize to the NANOBODY4BRAIN project led by Philippe Rondard. The awards ceremony took place at the Afterwork de l’Innovation, on July 8, 2024 at the “Orangerie du Jardin des Plantes” in Montpellier.
The “Neuroreceptors, Dynamics and Function” team, led by Philippe Rondard, has developed a new immunotherapy for brain diseases based on the use of innovative mini-antibodies derived from llamas. Applied to schizophrenia, this immunotherapy durably reduces cognitive deficits in preclinical models. These new antibodies have the property of rapidly penetrating the brain, acting on certain glutamate receptors and remaining active for more than a week.
Congralutations!
